Storage Engineer – VMWare ESX 4.1, Windows, Linux, HP EVA, EMC Clariion SAN
Storage Engineer will provide in depth knowledge and expertise in supporting Storage Infrastructures, primarily EMC and HP Arrays with a Cisco Fabric, at leading inter-dealer brokerage in the City.
Storage Engineer will have experience in:
* Hands on experience with HP EVA and/or EMC Clariion SAN in a multi-site replicated environment
* Hands on experience with VMWare ESX Server in a multi-site, clustered environment, with a high level of troubleshooting skills; ESX/ESXi 3.5/4.0; VSphere and VCentre 2.5. Very Good knowledge of VCB and SRM. High level of understanding of the relationship between ESX and the backend storage.
* Experience of installing and supporting Windows 2003/2008 in an Enterprise environment
* Experience of installing and supporting Red Hat Linux in an Enterprise environment
* Very Good Knowledge of Active Directory, supporting from a Multi-Domain environments.
* Very Good Knowledge of Group Policy and troubleshooting GPO issues
* Very Good knowledge of HP Proliant Servers and Blades,
* Very Good experience of DNS/DHCP/IP
* Good experience with Infrastructure Management tools i.e. Altiris
* Good experience with implementing and managing monitoring solutions
* Experience of backup technologies in particular Symantec Backup Exec/Netbackup
* Good Troubleshooting skills
* Support of servers at Remote Data Centres
* Good understanding of Solaris and SUN Servers
* Good understanding of networks/firewalls
Storage Engineer will be the point of contact for London Storage related issues, dealing with installation, configuration and resolution of issues; providing documentation where required. Also providing input into Architecture reviews that have a dependency on Storage infrastructure.
They will work on projects that require the implementation of systems that run on this platform.
Provide pro-active recommendations on areas for improvement and take ownership of this technology for the EU region. Share knowledge with other members of the European Systems Team.
Provide support for other systems and escalate to the relevant technical expert within the team.
